Himachal a range of mighty mountains popular in the world. A hotspot for many mountaineers and trekkers and travel seekers. Lots of trekkers are visiting Himachal Pradesh every year for trekking. There are so many amazing treks in Himachal from beginner level to hard level. The climate on the mountain is changing every twenty minutes to thirty minutes. Sometimes it’s becoming tough to trek in Himachal because of the climate condition. And you need to step back to basecamp and wait for a good climate condition. To climb any peak in fluctuating climate condition can be the biggest risk.

Consider Trek Duration and Which Region You Chose for Trekking in Himachal Pradesh

To do the trek in Himachal Pradesh you need to be fit. So that you will be stable in every situation. Not only fitness but also backpacking is a vital part of trekking. If your backpack is packed well then its quite easy to carry it and you can do the trek comfortably. Your backpack depends on the type of trekking you chose, beginner level trek, moderate level trek or hard level trek. So you can carry the trek gear and essential things according to how many days you will send on a trip in Himachal.

If you didn’t pack your backpack correctly then you will suffer from so many difficulties during trekking. Following tips on backpack packing will help you to prepare your backpack for trekking in Himachal Pradesh.

Things to Carry in Backpack and Division of All Things in Separate Pouches

Always carry two to three pouches in your backpack and spit all things in it. So it will reduce the time of finding a necessary thing. For example

Pouch 1: Add Your Daily Use Clothes in the First Pouch.

T-Shirt, Trackpant, Napkin, and Innerwear and Thermal wear.

Pouch 2: Add Personal Care Stuff in This Pouch

Toiletries:

Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Soap, Suncream, Sanitizer, Handwash, Shampoo.

Medical Kit:

Electrolyte Powder, Compression Bandage, Pain Relief Gel, Pain Killer, and Some Essential Medicines.

Pouch 3: Add Warm Cloths in This Pouch

Fleece Jacket or Sweater, Waterproof Gloves, Beanie Cap, Socks, A poncho or rain jacket

Roll Clothes in Backpack

Cloth folding is one of my favourite task of packing the backpack. All clothes should be folded effectively which take limited space. Rolling your clothes is a better option because rolled clothes need limited space in your backpack.

Put Essential Things on Top:

When you packing your backpack put essential things on the top portion, hence you won’t disturb the whole backpack. Use the side pockets and top pocket of the backpack to put necessary things like,

Trekking Pole, Waterbottle, Mobile Charger, Earphones, Powerbank, Torch, Coffee Mug, Suncap, Sunglass, Chocolates, Wild Knife for safety etc.

Note: Instead of using a plastic water bottle do use steel or copper water bottle.

Don’t Carry Unnecessary Things

It’s crucial to say no to unnecessary things in your backpack. Lots of people do overpack of cloths, rather you need to pack only essential things in your backpack. While trekking everything become too much heavy because during the trek your body becomes exhausted. You cant carry a heavy backpack, so it’s a good decision to take limited things with you. So your backpack will be lighter and you can do trek easily and earlier. Take clothes with you that having multiple combinations so you can reduce the extra cloths.

Backpack Weight Management

While you are packing your backpack must your eye on weight management. Backpack weight must be equal to both sides. If your backpack is not having equal weight on the side then it’s very harmful. You can suffer from severe back pain if your backpack weight is not well distributed. After packing the backpack check it again if your backpack weight is properly distributed or not.

Laundry Bag: For Snow Trek Shoe

Always carry a laundry bag to put extra footwears. After the heavy trek, it’s difficult to walk with heavy snow trek shoes thus you must need to carry a lightweight shoe. A laundry bag is very useful to put footwear.

Side Bag – Use a Sidebag to Put Documents

Use a secrete bag or side bag to add some cash or wallet with you. You can also add a passport or your important documents in this bag. You can place this side bag inside your jacket for safety or fix it on your waist. Prefer side bag which having charging slot.

Sleeping Bag

Put your sleeping bag in the sleeping bag compartment of your backpack. If your backpack does not have this facility then fix your sleeping bag on the top portion of the main compartment.
